The Monument of King Rama V and King Rama VI

The University owes its establishment to two far-sighted monarchs: Rama V and Rama VI who, both recognising the importance of higher education, took the initiative of founding Chulalongkorn University as a set of knowledge of all branches in the interest of the kingdom. It is with deep gratitude that the University erected a monument for Rama V and Rama VI in a beautifully landscaped area in front fo the main auditorium. The sculptor crafted the statues after a portrait in the Grand Palace. The foundation stone of this monument was laid by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The monument was unveiled by HM the King in 1987.
