Students studying in universities around the world (No Students Exchange Agreement or cannot join the exchange program for some reason) who would like to spend one or more semesters at Chula can apply to the Study Abroad Program. As per our Study Abroad Program regulations, you are required to pay tuition fees to Chulalongkorn University during the period of study. Please consult your home university for approval.

🟡 When to Apply

🟡 Eligibility:

To be considered for admission, it is a must that you meet the following requirements. Please  scan the documents for consideration in advance.

1. Be an undergraduate student with a grade point average (GPAX) of no less than 2.75 (in the 4-point scale US system) or equivalent.

2. For non-native English speakers or English is not a medium of instruction, one of the following English Proficiency Tests is required:

   • TOEFL score of no less than 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based)

   • IELTS score of no less than 6.5

   • Proof of the English Language Proficiency.

3. University ranking is in the top 100 of the country for American university and top 10 for other universities.

4. University or business school has been accredited by AACSB or EFMD.

5. Information of your school accreditation or ranking in the nation or in the world (QS, Time Higher Education (THE), Financial Times (FT) or US News or anything.

   
   

🟡Conditions:

1. The period of study at Chula of no longer than one academic year.

2. Enrollment for no less than 9 credits in a semester (Fall Semester and Spring Semester), and no less than 3 credits in Summer Semester.

3. Non-degree awarded (a transcript is available).

4. Payment of tuition and Group health insurance fees in accordance with Chulalongkorn's rules and regulations.

5. You acceptance depends on meeting all qualifications by the deadline. However, reaching our maximum capacity sooner could affect your admission.

6. Your application will be automatically canceled if you've applied to or been accepted by other programs.

7. After your documents have been proved and you are qualified, we will send an application link to you by email by March 15th (Fall) and by August 15th (Spring).

🟡 Application Process:

You are required to complete an online application and upload all required documents by the deadlines.

▶️ March 15 - April 15 for Fall, August 15 - September 15 for Spring.

1. Professional Photo

2. Passport Copy: Clear copy of your ID info page. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date into Thailand (mandatory for visa issuance and flight boarding).

3. Academic Transcript: Should have a minimum GPAX of 3.00 / 4.0.

4. Institutional Documents: Home university approval letter & English proficiency proof (If English is not the medium of instruction).

5. Course Selection: The courses you list in the application portal represent a tentative plan only. Official course enrollment occurs in a month prior to the start of the semester. You may refer to our course archives, tentative course list, and syllabi for reference.

6. Housing Selection: Select your preferred residence (Nonsi, Hampton, or CU iHouse) in the portal by the application deadline.

Notes:

• Admission Package: Digital Letters of Acceptance (for visa application) will be issued within one month after the application deadline.

• Student ID & Registration: You will receive your Student ID and login details one month prior to the start of the semester. You must complete your CR 20 Student Profile immediately upon receiving your login details, or no later than the stated deadline. If you do not complete it, you will be unable to access the system to register for classes.

• Student Visa (Non-Immigrant ED): Apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa via the official Thai E-Visa portal (Thai Embassy/Consulate Website) once your acceptance letter arrives. Remember that traveling outside Thailand during your studies requires a Re-Entry Permit to keep your visa active.

🟡 Group Health Insurance Fee Notice

Please be advised that while exchange students are exempt from paying tuition fees at Chulalongkorn University, university regulations require all international students to pay a 2,000 THB group health insurance fee. Kindly complete this payment within the first 2 weeks of the semester. Please note that late payments may incur a penalty fee and will prevent students' final exam grades from being released.

🟡 Tuition Fees  (Thai Baht)

Remark: Fees include textbooks, reading materials, educational trips in Thailand that may be organized as well as extra-curricular activities, sports, library, computer lab and university infirmary.
