This year's Thai Class for the first semester of 2014  was held on the 20th and 25th of August by the BBA student Council.  The student council aims to teach  exchange students basic Thai language to help them get around in their daily life and also Thai culture such as the do's and don'ts. We are also intent on showing them ways of getting around Bangkok and to other major attractions.

A total of about 50 students attended each of the classes. Students that were from all around the world proved eager to absorb the new language and culture.

Even though, the BBA student council (International Program) hosted the Thai Classes, it was not without participation from dedicated students from the Thai Program as well, proving once and for all that the desire to reach out and help exchange students settle in the Land of Smiles was universal among CU students.

The Classes for this term ended on 18th September. In these three classes, something more than knowledge about language and culture was exchanged. They were friendships, relationships, and irreplaceable memories.

Needless to say, we take great delight in hosting this event and will be looking forward to the next one. So until then, สวัสดี ครับ (for men) ค่ะ (for girls).

After wrapping up our day trip to Talad Maeklong’s Risky Market, Damnernsaduak Floating Market and Blooms Orchid Park, I couldn’t have been more pleased. The BBA staff did an excellent job at organizing this professionally guided tour to experience a glimpse of the authentic everyday life of Thai people, away from all the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. It was an ideal opportunity to mingle with and get to know some of my fellow exchange students better. However, my most cherished highlight was our last stop at Blooms Orchid Park with time to relax in comfort and chat over a coffee, while surrounded by lush greenery and an array of exotic flowers.

I had a fantastic day with fun people, great stories and a collection of wonderful memories. Definitely worth getting up early!

On October 29th, two students of Ajarn Yayus Mak from Marketing Strategy 2012, Chase Boedigheimer (USA) and Nina Kremer (Germany), had the opportunity to attend the James Bond 007 Skyfall Thailand Gala Premier courtesy of Khun Subha-Orn Rathanamongkolmas from Sony Pictures Releasing Thailand.

Skyfall, the 23rd and latest James Bond movie, opened with its Thailand gala premier at SF World Cinema, Bangkok, presided by His Excellency Mr. Mark Kent, British Ambassador to Thailand. The movie was officially released in Thailand on November 1st, 2012 and coincided with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond series.

Apart from being the first selected group of people in Thailand to see Skyfall, the students got to attend the glitzy 007 co-marketing events with Heineken and Coca Cola, met with movie industry executives, and witnessed firsthand the integrated marketing activities that went into the release of a James Bond movie.
