In today's major selection session, professors from different major have come and gave information each major specifically.  They have clarified to us about the courses that we will be able to take in a second and third year, which made me understood that each major have a different purposes and subjects are different as well. In financing, students will be focusing on collecting raw data and interpret them into information for further uses. In accounting major, we will be able to understand how the operation works by looking at cash flows of a business. Moreover, we will receive a degree that can guarantee us to work in a big company after finished the course. In IB, students will be able to learn how to manage the business in general. The course will not focus on a specific subject like the previous ones.  The professor also introduced many big firms to us as an inspiration and guide for our career path. This emphasize the importance of choosing major that suit us most because the business area will be totally different. However, because it was a short session, professors were not able to go in detail, but we all get the general idea of each major, which I think it was very useful for us as it help many students make the decision.

Four students set out to pursue their last mission for Chula before graduation. Out of 161 teams that applied nationwide, The Backup Slides, a team representing BBA Chulalongkorn University, won the national champions for HSBC Business Case Competition 2017 (Thailand) on April 29, 2017, hosted at Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus.

Competing in one 1-week case, two 2.5-hour cases, and presenting in front a panel of top industry judges consisting of CEOs from top companies in Thailand and abroad, we, the Back-Up slides, enjoyed the tough yet fruitful experience. We felt that the key success factor was not only the synergy of technical skills but also the fact that all of us enjoyed working with each other.

The team will be the national representative for Thailand and proceed to compete in the HSBC International Business Case Competition on June 6-9, 2017 at Hong Kong.

The study trip to Korea was very eye-opening. It was really interesting to learn how Korea, a country that once had the same fundamentals as Thailand, was able to leap from an underdeveloped nation to a developed one. It helped us develop deep insights about the importance of education, unity, and adopting a holistic approach i developing economic policies. As we as graduating students are about to step into the real world, we will sure keep these morales in mind. Thank you Ajarn Somchanok, Professor Shin, Ajarn Mongkolchai, and BBA for this great opportunity.
