For high school students it is very crucial to make the right decision especially when it comes to the perfect university for themselves. For the past eight years, the BBA International Program along with BBA students have helped fellow high school students from every region of Thailand to know more about what it is like to be studying at BBA Chulalongkorn and more specifically, what is the pathway that each of them can follow.

BBA Chula Camps have always been about offering the best experiences and support for students by students. Each year, we explore new ways to enhance our activities to participants and develop leadership skills for BBA students simultaneously. Apart from getting to know more about BBA Chulalongkorn, recent BBA Chula Camps provided extraordinary experiences which allowed participants to explore and ask themselves what they want to pursue post highschool graduation with support from our staff.

From my point of view, BBA Chula Camp is a life changer to participants. Activities and environment during the three days allow them to build a strong network of those who are ambitious to enter the program and support each other as they have been through similar challenges, and establish a forever lasting friendship within their fellow participants and all the roon P’.
Thank you all the roon P’ and the BBA Program who helped co-created this unique experience for all high school students out there and BBA students who had joined the rides together. Without any of them, BBA Chula Camp would never have been as great and successful as it is today.

Being camp coordinator throughout the end-to-end 1-year timeline, I learnt two key aspects. First and most importantly, I’ve understood the components required for stakeholder management. Being able to simultaneously meet the needs of numerous parties is crucial in effective execution, for instance, learning contribution amongst BBA students alongside enhancement of the community’s well-being. This also relates to compromization of opposing values and their consequences. Secondly, I realized that influencing others positively can amplify the effect for a larger group of people, which is more effective. During camp, numerous values were imposed and frequently reminded. Many participants internalized them and transferred such good deeds to the as well as their fellow camp members. Seeing this happen from the perspective of the staff head truly fulfilled my ambitions for the camp. Last but not least, I have to put forward that all would not be possible without my teammates, having gone through countless ups and downs together. I am extremely proud of them and could not have asked for more, except for the chance to collaborate again in the future. Thank you, Rural Family.

My final year as BBA Rural Project staff was filled with many challenging times as well as very rewarding moments. Being the camp coordinator, I had to take care of all the initiatives within the camp. This made me see all the different changes and impact we were making for the local community and school. This ranged from seeing a very old kindergarten building being renovated into a newly build and fully painted structure, as well as seeing the development of the children at the school and the smiles on their faces as they engage in the activities we have prepared. This was truly a life-changing experience for me as well as for all the other staffs and volunteers involved in this project where we continually learnt of the importance and value of being a ‘giver’ throughout the entirety of the camp. From this point I would like to see how BBA rural project continues to deliver impact to communities in Thailand and how it will keep on growing along with the people inside.

Rural is a seven days camp that aims to bring help and support to rural communities in Thailand. This year’s rural project was held in Baan Mae How school and community. During the period of seven days, we set out to build a new kindergarten classroom as the old one is often flooded in the monsoon season as well as painting the community daycare’s walls. We also got opportunities to learn more about northern tradition and way of life and lead elementary students in activities that help boost inspiration and soft skills such as teamwork.

Last year, I learned about what it’s like to be a giver. To step out of the competitive business world where things are often driven by personal gains or benefits, and try to do something for other people without anything in return. I learned how simple ‘giving’ can be and how it can come in many forms whether by putting your effort into something even though you’re not good at it like construction, by cooking and taking care of people who’ve been hard at work, or just by being present and listening to other people’s point of view. This year, what I learned further as a staff member was how good it felt to be able to help guide other people learn and realize the same truth I did in the past as a volunteer during my previous year.

As the camp reaches its twelfth rendition, we continually try to communicate our core values of creating impact for the local community and empowering our students. This year, our main construction project was to build a library for the students through the help of our staff and volunteers, along with the assistance of the local community. We also coordinated a variety of activities for the students, where I was part of the education staff team.

The emphasis this year for the education team was on teaching life skills along with building a strong ethical values. I have to say that I am very proud of our team members as well as volunteers where we were able to help communicate these values and skills to the children and at the same time, gain learning through this experience for ourselves. I am very happy overall with the impact that we were able to make as well as the lessons that we have all garnered through these experiences and I definitely have to thank everyone involved for making this possible including the staff team, the volunteers and most importantly the school and local community.

BBA rural project is a community-service retreat for selected students to develop themselves with underprivileged people living in the rural area. As a coordinator of this camp, I’ve developed various skills, improve my weaknesses and learn how to deal with problems. The most important thing that I focus on is giving, not only for the community but also for students as well. By giving to others, doing your best effort, eventually you will receive something back, it may not come in physical form but it can bring joy as a giver. This year we have built a community library for the school for local students to enjoy and improve their learning skills. We have maximized the donation to support this library as well as the necessary facilities for this school. I personally would like to thanks everyone for the support and opportunities for creating this year BBA Rural Project, we have created a warm family among students and the community.

It has been over twelve years that BBA Rural Project is organized to help Thai rural schools constructing the buildings they need and to help the communities by donating and teaching through activities. The community’s seven days of warm welcome taught all of us a lifetime lesson of giving. Rural Project inspires us to give and share whatever we have and however we can, from building the library to teaching the children or to even the smallest things of making someone happy and be able to smile; and these acts of kindness can extend much beyond Rural Project itself. It also reminds us of how incredibly lucky and full of opportunities  we BBA students have and how important it is for us to give back and pay forward to everyone around us. Towards the end of the camp, we were delighted to build the school’s new library that would for years and decades allow the children to play and learn.

Being a part of the organizing team also taught me several lessons of trust, passion, and teamwork. Without even a single one of Rural Project organizing staff, the project would not have been fulfilling to both the local community and the attending BBA students. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my hardworking and passionate friends for sharing with me countless memories and growing together along the journey. BBA Rural Project will always hold a special place in my heart, and I know in yours as well.
