On March 31, 2018, out of 138 teams that applied nationwide, PengTy Consulting, a team representing BBA Chulalongkorn University, emerged as the national champions for HSBC/TBS Business Case Competition Thailand 2018, hosted at HSBC Bangkok Office.

The competition consisted of 4 rounds: Preliminary Round (7-day case), Qualifying Round (presentation of the 7-day case), Semi-Final Round (2:30-hour case), and the Final Round (3-hour case).

In the Final Round, PengTy Consulting had to present their solutions for Apple China to Senior Executives of leading companies in Thailand and emerged victorious against 3 other teams. Mr. Apiwat Narkhan, a BBA student, was also awarded the Best Speaker Award.

The team will be representing Thailand at HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition on June 4-8, 2018 at Hong Kong.

On behalf of the team, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the BBA International Program, BBA Case Club and faculty members who all have shown us continuous support throughout the journey.

Below are the thoughts of our members:

“I am very proud to be able to bring the 1st Place trophy back to Chula. I believe that the key success factor of this competition was the team synergy. Our team had endlessly supported each other both in terms of case and emotionally while at the same time having so much fun while doing case. A big thank you to our professors and Case Club members who have guided us through our journey.” by Mr. Apiwat Narkhan (Tar), Finance, 3rd Year

“It was with much excitement and dedication to make it to the semi-final and final rounds, which were challenging as we had to work under time constraint and pressure. I would not have made it to this point if it had not been with my teammates, I’d like to thank them for our unmatched teamwork and all the fun and lessons we had together, also, a big thank you to everyone who has helped and advised us along the way.” by Ms. Nattaya Sithisarankul (Sandy), International Business, 2nd Year

“Since this was my very first competition and the 3-hour case format using acetates was very challenging, I never expected to reach this far and ultimately won this competition. I would like to thank you everyone who helped and advised us along this journey and especially to the team. I truly appreciate that we really support each other both in case cracking and personal issues.” by Mr. Pakorn Chavalikikorn (Peng), Finance, 2rd Year

“Winning this competition was an unforgettable experience for me. I had learned a lot over the past month with this team. This competition had taught me the importance of teamwork and I am so fortunate to be with a such a supportive team. Thank you to anyone that sacrificed their time to support us along the way.”  by Ms. Suphida Ung-Aram (Praew), Finance, 2rd Year
