On November 14, 2018, Sisters & Co. won the second runner-up title at the University of Münster Case Challenge after placing first in their division for the three short cases during the preliminary round. The four members were Panicha Opastirakul, Parima Chaiwarut, Pongdith Rojwattana and Siremon Thongparn.
The University of Münster Case Challenge was organized for the second year and was known for its short case format and unique team composition of both undergraduate and graduate students. The team had to compete against 11 leading universities around the world, such as Copenhagen Business School, Nanyang Technological University and Rotterdam School of Management.
The format of the competition was a two 3-hour case and one 4-hour case, which was presented during the final round. During the 4-hour case, the team was challenged with identifying the go-to-market strategy to ensure profitability by 2020 for Lytt, a startup company that provides a communication platform and consultation service for employees who faced sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace.
The team would like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the BBA International Program for providing the valuable opportunity and Case Club Chulalongkorn for the endless support and trainings. The team would also like to thank their advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mongkolchai Wiriyapinit, for supporting them both prior to and during the competition.
Below are the thoughts of our members:
“Flying over 10 hours to the beautiful city of Münster, I have never thought that time would pass by this fast. It was a truly enjoyable and challenging experience to work with my team under time pressure and propose solutions to various businesses which span across three different industries- retail, banking and service. I could not be thankful enough for the learning and friendship gained at UMCC.” - Ms. Panicha Opastirakul (Angie), Finance, 4th year
“I am very proud to represent Chulalongkorn University at an international level competition in Germany. It is definitely one of the most memorable experience in my university life. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Aj. Mongkolchai, Aj. Buraj, Aj. Tim, and Aj. Kate for helping us prepare before the competition as well. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to win second runner-up!” - Ms. Parima Chaiwarut (Prim), International Business, 4th year
“At UMUCC, I not only had a great competition experience but also had an amazing time at the charming and cozy town of Münster. What makes the experience even more meaningful is my teammates. We’ve been through ups and downs together and they never fail to amaze me with their passion to always strive for excellence. I am also extremely grateful to all my seniors and advisors for their endless support. UMCC will definitely be a memory that I will always cherish.” – Ms. Siremon Thongparn (Pim), Accounting, 4th year
“It was a great honor for me to represent Chulalongkorn along with three seniors, Panicha, Parima, and Siremon, in Münster, Germany. I learned so much from them throughout our preparations and our time at the competition. Furthermore, I would also like to thank our dear professors: Dr Tim, Aj Buraj, Aj Kate, and Aj Mongkolchai for dedicating their precious time to help us out with our trainings. I would also like to mention our alumnis, P Pippin and P Bos, for mentoring us and providing us knowledge all along.
