For the first time in 2 years for onsite case competition, Team Jumbo Dumbo Consulting received a great opportunity to join and be one of the finalists in the Heavener International Case Competition (HICC) hosted by the University of Florida, in the United States of America. The competition consisted of 14 leading universities across the world, such as HEC Montreal, Indiana University, and RSM Erasmus University.
There were two rounds of the competition: the 12-hour case (Friendship Force International) and the 28-hour case (Baker Hughes) which both consisted of three divisions and five competing teams in each. Team Jumbo Dumbo Consulting has presented the analysis and recommendations to the honorable judges from the companies and industry which ranked first in the division against top universities from the United States, Canada and Armenia.
As a representative team of Chulalongkorn University, Team Jumbo Dumbo Consulting was grateful for the support received from the university, BBA International program, advisors, and Case Club Chulalongkorn along this journey.
“It is such an honor for me to be a representative of Chulalongkorn University and compete in the Heavener International Case Competition 2022. I would say that this competition is very challenging as it requires us to fully understand the industries that we have less familiarity with and come up with recommendations to their challenging key questions. However, with the continuous support from Dr. Chackrit, Dr. Buraj and Case Club Alumni, we have learned and improved a lot. Without their valuable guidance, we would not be able to achieve this. I also truly appreciate BBA staff who relentlessly help us along the way, despite the difficulty during this unusual time. Lastly, I would like to thank my team members for putting their fullest effort during the past 3 months of this journey and showing their best performance in the competition. This competition will surely be one of the greatest memory in my university life”

I will cherish my HICC experience forever. Once again, thank you, everyone."

“Due to uncertain circumstances and constraints during covid times, HICC 2022 was especially challenging for us. We would have never accomplished what we did without the support of those around us. I would like to thank my family and friends for their continuous support throughout the competition. Moreover, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to BBA Chula Case Club along with its Alumni and Dr. Buraj for the feedback and guidance that helped us improve our performance over the years. Furthermore, I would like to thank Chulalongkorn Business School and Dr. Chakrit for supporting our journey and providing us with an opportunity to represent Chulalongkorn on an international stage such as HICC. Lastly, I would like to thank my teammates, without whom, we would have not accomplished what we did. I would like to thank you all for putting in 100% in every meeting, every practice, and every day of the competition. Thank you for never giving up despite many challenges and continuing to believe in each other all the way to the very end.”

“I could not be more honored to compete in HICC 2022 as a representative of Chulalongkorn University. It was a very challenging experience in both case-cracking and competition preparing during covid pandemic, but also a precious one when we overcame it together. All support and advice from Dr. Chackrit, Dr. Buraj, and Case Club Alumni, and BBA staff truly helped us to accomplish what we have done. I would also like to thank my teammates for the valuable contributions in every case we have done and for having each other’s back through all the challenges. Lastly, a big thank you to my family and friends who always gave the best support along the journey.”
